Who We Are
Skate and surf clinics, contests and tours are also organized by Poseiden to reach youth within their own communities. Though we are more extreme sports oriented we are now outreaching to other activites within the North County area such as: partenering up with envirnmental clubs to teach the youth about becoming aware of thier surrounding and how they too effect our eco-systems with everything they do.

Each year Poseiden’s Share the Love and Empowerment Tour Oahu grows in size and smiles! ”

“It was a super cool to tour with Poseiden in Hawaii, we got to talk to kids about their dreams and tell them about ours. Then got to have one on one time with some of the kids at the skatepark. Poseiden definitely impacted the community. I could just tell after their schools assembly’s at the skatepark, kids were coming up to us and saying they saw us at the school and that they liked our assembly. They were stoked to be at the skatepark with us and just skate and hang out! I’d say hanging out at the skatepark and helping kids learn how to skate was super fun!” -Nicole Hause

for websiteTo wrap up from our busy day monday, Poseiden Foundation’s director Micaela Ramirez became in contact with the Turtle Bay Resorts, Horse Stables later on in the night. “The Stables” manager had heard about what Poseiden’s mission is and after learning about how we impact and give back to to their community. That he became so happy and eager, he wanted to offer us a FREE beautiful oceanic horse ride tour along Turtle Bay Beach! With the support from our crew, team rider Nicole Hause even conquered her fear for horses and decided to join us for the fun. This was such a amazing experience that I know we will never forget.

Today marks the fourth day on tour. Man was it a busy day! The Poseiden crew had to set our alarms for super early this morning. Since we had to drive straight over to Sunset Beach Elementary School. Where we then held two assemblies, influencing them to follow dreams and set goals. Sunset Elementary believes in and incorporates a system called S.U.R.F. (self discipline, unity, respect, and friendliness) so we thought it would only be appropriate to bring with us on tour not only pro skateboarders and a lyra hoopist but also a former Olympian to hype the kids out about following their dreams. The Poseiden Foundation had such a huge success, reaching out to nearly five-hundred students! The students became engaged that they even volunteered to come all the way up on stage with us, and tell the whole cafeteria what their DREAMS are and what GOALS they would like to set and accomplish.

IMG_5437Following the last assembly, we rushed right over to Banzai Skatepark to meet up with Hawaii’s local “ Kids Hurt Too” organization to hold a Autism Awareness clinic! For we believe that it is important for everyone to have the same equal chance and that any goals can be set in life, with the right amount of confidence and support. We also think that it is very important for the other children to understand and see that just because you have a disability, does not necessarily mean that you let life’s challenges get in the way. We can accomplish anything as long as we set our mind to it! Our crew was so dedicated to helping kids get on a skateboard, that when students from Sunset Elementary began to approach us we gave them lessons as well! The students were so excited and eager that they grabbed their boards and pads right away, because come on let’s face it, what’s not funner than learning something new with all your friends who are there to motivate and support you?! The whole Poseiden crew received so many smiles in return as a thank you. The children were having such a good time that they kept asking their parents if they can stay longer to watch what they learned or made sure that they promised to come bring them back soon!

PF Oahu 2016 day3-05

Today marks the third day of Poseiden’s share the love and empowerment Oahu 2016 tour. Even though we didn’t have a skate clinic or assembly to attend to, doesn’t  mean Poseiden had a off day! Today we decided as a team that it would be a good day to visit Waimea Valley. We chose to visit this beautiful place because they share an equal amount of love for their community, just as much as we do. Waimea Valley is a place where conservation of natural resources go hand in hand. They also demonstrate how cultural uses and gathering can encourage stewardship from within the local community. While the crew was going on a nature walk, scoping the scene for trash to throw away at the nearest recycling bin. The Poseiden crew was also able to learn all about Waimea’s plant conservation in many kinds of ways!

Today marks the second day of tour! This morning the crew woke up to motivational stories told by Cara-Beth Burnside that instantaneously set the mood for the day. We decided as a team, that because it was a couple of the girls first time on tour,  we would show them around Haleiwa and Turtle Bay Beach. We decided to go to these places because we wanted to help make a difference in a community that is highly impacted from tourist. We each brought our own bag and walked around the area picking up any trash we saw. This way it wouldn’t get into our oceans. Soon enough, it was time to meet up with the local youth at Banzai Skatepark. Where we then held FREE skate lessons, and a best trick  contest with product give away. Thanks to the help from our awesome sponsors and donations! We love being able to stoke the kids out in any way possible. Especially when it’s through skateboarding! We noticed that when the youth were able to watch our athletes and friends skate around the park, they became highly motivated to get on their skateboards and set goals to accomplish for the day.

Sometimes all we need in life are the littlest things, such as MOTIVATION. Thanks to the help from our awesome instructor Nicole Hause, Kiki was able to drop in from the quarter pipe alone, on her second try ! She was so excited she became motivated to set goals and accomplish dropping in even more. After Poseiden’s member Rena Accetta saw Kiki facing her fears and dropping in. She became motivated to drop in from the vert wall. While standing on top of the wall contemplating whether or not this was something she felt capable of doing Kiki yelled out, “I believe in you, you can do it!” After Rena gained the confidence she need she was able to drop in first try, followed by her and Kiki both congratulated each other for their accomplishments.  We at Poseiden acknowledged her effort and gifted Kiki with a skateboard deck for all her hard work, knowing that she would be determined to continue skating.

After our sesh at Banzai, the Poseiden foundation was invited to one of Hawaii’s top female skateboarders home to continue the session on her backyard mini-ramp. Let me tell you, this was definitely one for the books! We had linked up with all  the top female skaters on the island, as well as even Canada. They set the bar pretty high when it came to creativity and style. Every trick was unique never dull. The energy was high that we skated our hearts out until it became pitch black outside! After the mini-ramp our crew  gathered together to watch the local crew do what traditional Hawaiians  are best at. Fire performance and poi!
